Many things have changed since the last time I posted and I realize that maybe I should be better about upkeep. My life has gone through so many changes. Here are the highlights:
- I have been with the same government agency for the past 4 years. I have enjoyed the learning and growth and the job security is awesome. I am blessed to be able to work from home which is probably the best perk ever.
- Allison graduated from the Orange County School of the Arts. She is attending Riverside Community College with plans to transfer to a 4 year university. She also currently is working for Amazon and just bought her first car..a Toyota Corolla.
- Teresa is in 11th grade and has found a love of playing Water polo. She finished her personal progress at church and enjoys her time with her friends.
- Matt has still been attending special schools for autistic children however, this year for 7th grade he is being reintegrated into a regular middle school in special Ed classes. He has math class at the middle school right now and loves it. He has grown so much and it as tall as Allison already. Everyone says he looks just like me so I figure he will easily be as tall as my brother and dad.
- Alicia is in the 4th grade. She has had some challenges learning to read but she has an awesome teacher this year and we have a plan so hopefully she can catch up. She still loves to sing and dance. There are no really good children's theater groups in Riverside that do not cost a fortune so she sings on the playground and the church choir.
-I was able to complete a Bachelors Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at Ashford University. I then decided to go a step further and I also completed my Master's degree in Public Administration at Ashford University. I walked in the graduation ceremony when I got my master's degree.
I did two color runs... the first with Alicia and some of my friends and the second with my family. We went on a New year's Day hike at the Historic Citrus park. This summer we also had adventures like a nerf war with friends, visiting some of the temples, learning and trying new things and just having fun as a family.
So many things have changed, Jim and I separated in March and are in the process of a divorce. But right now I just focus on being the best mom I can and figuring out as a single parent how to navigate this new life. I have faith though that the kids and I are on the right path and headed for great things. I am trying to teach them how to weather the storms, dance in the rain and just not let the trials of life weigh them down.
There have been so many blessing and wonderful supportive friends that I am excited to see what is to come and where the lord is going to lead my little family.
A crazy, busy mom helping her kids navigate this crazy life with God leading the way.

Overdue update
It has been quite while since I blogged. So much has happened and here is the readers digest version.
My mom died on October 12,2012. I was with her when she passed. It was very peaceful and I know that her parents and othrr lived ones met her as she left this life. It was a whirlwind Utah trip but she was
laid to rest in the Manti Ut cemetary next to her parents.
Sadly at the beginning of October my dad was hospitalized and although he pulled through and seemed to be getting better, he passed away on October 20,2012. We were devastated but I guess sometimes you just can't live apart from someone you love.
I changed jobs in June of 2012. I now work for Immigration and have learned so much. I attended a six week training in january and February of 2023. Such a great experience.
We bought a house in Riverside.Lots of searching and a difficult house hunt but it paid off and we have a house thst suits the needs of our family. I now work from home and love it.
Jim still commutes to Irvine but is actively looking for other opportunities closer to home.
Allison decided to finish High School at OCSA. She loves costuming, fashion design and theatre makeup classes.
She has her learners permit and begs to drive all the time.
Teresa goes to Miller Middle School. She is in the play the Wizard of Oz and loves performing in the band.
Matt attends a special school in Riverside for autistic children. He is doing well and even gave a talk in the children's class at church, and he wrote the talk with only minor help.
Alicia is a busy first grader. She loves school. She loves to play outside on her scooter.
They are all looking forward to being in the play Suessical over the summer and getting more time in our pool.
We added a new family member at christmas. He is a four year old white maltiepoo. Santa brought him to our famiky and none of us can remember what life was like before he came. He is very playful and loves stealing socks.

Update????
So just another day in paradise....So much has happened and I have been super busy, much to busy to blog...but here you go. This is the update:
**Mom went into a facility that can better care for her...very good for all of us. Living together and being the caregiver was not working.
**I decided to figure out why my foot was hurting and fix the problem...Well it ended up being bursitis in my foot. So the doctor wants we to stay off it for 6 weeks...With four kids and two parents to care for it is not an easy task. SO far I am 3 weeks in and have less pain but I knwo I am far from cured...just need to remember not to do things. I am actually missing work..so I gotta get this better!!!
**Matt has been moved to a special school that is much better for him. There is more structure and more accountability for him. He is doing extremely well and everyone is happy. Now if we can make the same progress at church it would be perfect. I struggled alot with him going to the new school. I felt like I had failed as a parent but I realized that he needed to move to progress. He know is learning and growing and he is sooo happy.
**The girls had a great time in the Tom sawyer play. ALicia is perfectly at home on the stage. They are now practicing for The Wiz where Allison has a awesoem part that she is very excited about. Alicia and teresa are in it as well as part of the ensemble and they will both be auditioning for Charlottes web.
**Jim applied for a higher position at his place of employement and we are waiting to see if they give it to him...it would be a nice pay raise.
**I applied to be a supervisor and am still waiting to hear form Immigration..I wish they would just decide to hire me. THat would be so nice.
Current craziness is my messy house that I cannot clean becuase I cannot stand on my foot. My keys are lost somewhere in my house and I cannot find them..I am praying that I can find them soon. Oh and I found the joy that is Pinterest!!!m
As for my goals they are just there and I will do an update soon.
Love ya all,
Rebecca

Out of Town...
Yesterday I left on my trip to Utah to help my mom go through her stuff and get the house ready to rent.
We left at 10:30amd and arrived at 7:30 in the snow...not really heavy snowfall but I had a hard time getting my van to go up the driveway!!!
The trip was rather uneventful but of course things at home never are.
Matthew had a hard day at school and jim had to go calm him down.
We have found out that Teresa cannot be dropped off at 7:30 am...I am trying to locate an alternate option.
Allison and Alicia had different rehearsal times so there was some back and forth to the theatre.
Jim is tired already!!
I surveyed the situation up here and I actually think we are in better shape than I thought. Don't get me wrong there is lots to go through and sort. Although mediating between my parents is not fun.
I knew it would be hard to be away from my family, but I never knew how hard it would be to not be able to go the school when Matt needs me....
I guess it is time to do a project 52 update.... Maybe over the next couple days...gotta get packing!!!

The goings and comings...
This has been an interesting week...Everyone but Jim got a 24 hour flu. It was not fun and really put me down for the count. The good part was I probably lost some weight during the weekend and my appetite is still very small. The worst part was I couldn't call in from work because I didn't want to get into trouble. Yes they would write me up and I really just do not want to be called into the office AGAIN!So I went and felt horrible..at least I was past the puking part and I was just super tired.
Oh and I am still waiting to hear if I get the job I interviewed for...waiting SUCKS!!!
Allison has finals this week so she gets out early from school... I amhoping that it translates into her helping me more.
Teresa got cast as Ensemble for Eeyores Birthday party and will also be the Understudy for Owl.
Matthew has decided that he prefers Diet Dr. Pepper because then Grandpa won't drink it...he thinks it is sneaky.
Alicia got cast as a fish in the Tom sawyer play and so her theatre career has begun.
Jim is excited for a few days off this week and the ability to spend time with his dad.
My parents are up to their normal mischief. It is hard to meet the needs of so many people in one house.
We got a new sofa and I got lots fo organizing done in the garage last week so when I get back from UT I will be doing tons of scrapbooking out there. Let me know if you want to come scrapbook with me and I will set up a table for you as well.
This is my life in the sandwich generation!!!

So much to do
I realized that my trip to Utah is two weeks away and I have done very little to prepare. I still have christmas stuff up at my house cause I have no energy to put it away. I need to create schedules and do a deep cleaning...maybe I should also pack!!
So recently I am waiting to hear about new jobs and I was pretty discouraged because at my current location it seems like it doesn't matter if I leave or not. I want to be less disposable and I want to figure out how to do that. I may be going fulltime within the next few months, so that will be a interesting change.
Tomorrow night I have a planning meeting for the Church activities committee..and I have no clue what activities to plan...suggestions would be helpful. I really want to helpt eh women learn how to ask for help when they need it and also learn the importance of serving others...
January seems to be a great month...lots to look forward to....liked WICKED at the Pantages!!!

2011 over 2012 Here we come
Hey there everyone,
So 2011 was a busy year for us. I do not see it settling down any day soon, so I guess 2012 will be the same.
Allison is loving High school. She is super busy but has decided she loves costuming and makeup.
Teresa is excelling at her new school. She has been taking voice lessons to prepare her for the audition at OCSHA. We are praying that she will get in.
Allison and Teresa both got parts in the ensemble cast for the Play Adventures of Tom Sawyer. They are super excited and it will be a great experience. Look for info in Feb about tickets for the March shows.
Matthew has had lots of changes with teachers. His school teacher Mrs. Holo got a new job that was great for her but bad for us because she took it and no longer is Matt's teacher. His new Teacher is Mrs. Vega. We are waiting to see how it works out. I didn't get warm feelings from her but I guess we shall see.
Alicia loves preschool and is so ready for Kindergarten. She loves to annoy my parents dogs and loves having pink chrostmas lights decorating her bed.
My parents moved in and will be staying for an undetermined amount of time. My mom has Uterine Cancer and is dying. We are sad but trying to make the most out of the rest of her time. I am helping as her caregiver.
Jim is hopefully going to be taking on more responsibility at work and maybe getting a raise. He has lost almost 50 lbs and is looking really good.
I have applied for various jobs at different airports and other federal agencies. Although I haven't gotten one yet I know the perfect opportunity is out there waiting for me. I also am finally working on my bachelors degree. It should take me a year and a half. But it is something that I have always wanted.
I am working on my new project 52 list so I will post that soon. I am going to keep this blog up to date this year.
Keep checking back for current happenings....

Back to School
Well three out of four kids are back in school. I offically have a high school age child...that means we get the joy of early morning Seminary.I start my new am work shift in two weeks...so I gotta get all the carpool kinks worked out.
Such a busy summer..Lots of time spent at the water park and pool. All my kids can swim...various levels but competent.
I just finished my last class for my TSA associates certificate program...so glad that it is over but it was a very interesting opportunity. The ceremony to recieve the certificate is a big event lots of important people coming to it...gotta look my best but I know I can't lose 50 lbs by then.(oh well)
Alicia gets a few weeks of special mommy & grandma time(Since grandma will be staying with us for the next few months)FUN TIMES!!!
Hopefully I can get a routine in place soon...back to the gym, clean house, laundry done, scrapbooking...and all the other multitude of tasks that vie for my time.
That's it for now...Have a great day.

I'm Back
So I went on a vacation from my blog for awhile. I had so much to do with the end of the school year and summertime that I haven't had time for much else.
SO here is the latest happenings:
Allison is anxiously awaiting strating at OCHSA on August 24. She & Teresa visited both sets of grandparents for two weeks and had lots of fun.
Teresa has been enjoying the summer and tries to get me to take her swimming everyday.
Matthew is still addicted to Avatar the last airbender and loves to be out riding his bike or diggin in the dirt.
Alicia loves her barbies and digging in the dirt with Matthew.
I took the younger ones and we went to Utah with my sister Paula for 9 days. Busy time cleaning cooking and trying to help my parents. We had fun got a horrible sunburn and decided that there was a positive use for smog(Protection from the sun).
I am going through a very stressful time at work. Evidently I have recently gotten really good at getting myself into trouble. Nothing too serious but serious enough that I have to be very, very good for awhile. We will see if I am able to accomplish this monumental task. LOL
I was referred to a great site called Elance which will let me bid on jobs that I can do on the side. Pretty excited about that concept. We shall see if it turns out to be really good.
Basically though we are enjoying the summer and trying to not get to stressed out. Oh well I guess I will have to get a massage come September.
See ya @ the next post,
Rebecca

Personal Brand
So I am developing my personal brand. I am trying to decide what I am most passionate about. So far my top three are:
1. My Kids/being a mom
2. My Beliefs
3. ????
SO I am not sure which way to go. I need to pick one thing and go with it. So any ideas people may have can be useful.
My kids: I read a really great book this afternoon about being a great mom. Not about being a perfect mom but a great one. I learned some great tips for example that enjoying the journey is so important. I mean my kids say and do things all the time that I laugh at or find amusing. This book suggested writing those happenings into a notebook to share with the children when they are older. For example:
The other day my son Matt(5) and I were waiting at my other daughters school in the office for her. THere was a notice that had two stop signs on it. One had the word spelt in english and the other one had the word spelt in Spanish. matt was quite distressed that they had spelt Stop wrong. He patiently showed me which letters were correct and proudly told me which letter they were missing or had wrong. I just smiled as I explained the difference of language to him. He still didn't really get it but I was aboe to see the world through his eyes. I love it because sometimes he just hugs me and says.."Thanks mom, I love you."
I will write about my other passion tomorrow and then maybe we can have a vote.

Hey there
So I know it has been a month since I posted last and so much has happened.
I have found my self going in different directions than I had planned on some working out others not so much. I applied for a lead position at TSA so maybe I will get that we shall see.
I fell a week ago and had to face the reality that I am getting older and do not recover quite so quickly. Luckily nothing too serious..scrapes and bruised knees. I just have to be more careful.
The kids are doing great but on Wednesday night they all decided to get the stomach flu at the same time. That was so horrible. One sick is bad but all four was crazy.
The school year is winding down and yet Teresa figured out a way to get a D- on her report card in social studies because she didn't do any work. Of course I went crazy because the teacher didn't tell me that Teresa was not turning in her work. I have a conference this afternoon. Hopefully the teacher has a good explanation for how this happened(besides Teresa's laziness).
Matt has moved forward but will be ina special day 1st grade because he cannot handle a regular class without an aide. hopefully we can eventually get there but for now we just want him to be happy and successful.
Alicia loves her preschool. She goes three morning a week and has a great time socializing with other children her age.
Allison is looking forward to OCHSA and I think that is all that gets her through each day at the school she goes to know. I like to refer to it as a prison but...that is a story for another day.
My life I feel is like a rollercoaster. I wish it was a tame one but alas it is a wild ride most days. Maybe someday it will settle down.
That's all for now I will post more frequently, now that I am not in training anymore and just back to being an awesome mom.

Change is in the air
Well the letter came and Allison got into Orange County High School of the Arts - production & design conservatory. We are so happy for her. It is a great school and she will grow so much. There is a certain amount of fundraising we must do so if you want to help then just send me an email.
The other kids are all plugging along and growing and changing. I am in a growth process myself. I am excited to work with buisnesses to grow them.
I have been thinking lately that I like helping people. I like doing things for others but I also need to do things for me. So I am on the hunt to find things to improve me. I am going to be joining Shauna on the 30 challenge with Visalus. I also have recommitted to working out and putting my health first. I am important also.
If you are on LinkedIn, please look for me and connect with me. I am always looking for great professional contacts.
All for now,
Rebecca Robinson

April already
I cannot believe that it is April already. My oldest child becomes a teenager. I cannot believe it. The time has flown by. I mean it seems like yesterday that she was so little. I guess it means that I am getting older....oh no!!!
The other children are all enjoying spring break but I cannot say the same for me.
The play was great and the costumes looked fabulous. My sister came the other day and helped me clean the house. I will be singing her praises forever. This was of course after our fun visit to the San Luis Rey de Francia mission. Such a beautiful place. It is located in Oceanside and is so serene. They actually use parts of it for retreats and still have regular worship services there. Also we learned that the movie Zorro was filmed there. Although I think the fourth grade mission project is lame sometimes we definitely had fun learning about the mission's history.
So I hae survived week one of Spring Break and am looking forward to a calmer 2nd week. The OCHSA letters come out starting this weekend. We are praying extra hard that Allison will get in.
I helped a friend of mine clean her house when she was moving and we had so much fun. I am so glad that I was able to be there for her. My question is why people tend not to help each other out anymore? I mean in older times you knew your neighbors and helped them rather than just complaining about them. Does anyone think it is possible to go back to that kind of a time?
So till next time keep on connecting.
